Discover the treasures of South Morocco with your personal 4 x 4 and guide. This trip includes two incredible nights in the desert of Merzouga in traditional Nomad style, complete with music and campfires. The Todra Gorge, Draa Valley, and a visit to Risani, round out your desert adventure, adding a bit of history and local experience to you tour.
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Todra gorges – Merzouga
Departure from your Ouarzazate accommodations after breakfast to head to the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We first visit the Kasbah Amerhidil in the Skoura palm grove, continuing on to Kelaa Mgouna, with its mixture of green tree gardens and fabulous roses. We head towards Tinghir through Dades Valley, having lunch in the Todra Gorges at a restaurant situated in the heart of the high canyon. Hiking here is desirable and available to you should you choose.
In the afternoon, we leave to Erfoud via Tinejdad with its old underground irrigation system, to discover an area of fossil extraction before we reach the dunes of Merzouga by Erg Chebbi. We will ride camels to the oasis where you will enjoy a spectacular sunset, dinner and an evening filled with entertainment.
Day 2: Merzouga – Desert Camp (Camel Ride)
In the morning we will meet our desert guide and travel via camel with only our basic needs for a one night stay under the stars. After 2 hours ride, we will have a one and half hour lunch break under the shadow of the tamarisk tree before heading towards the camp, complete with traditional nomad tents made with goat skin and camel hair. Relax and drink a mint tea while an evening meal is prepared. Sunset, dinner and traditional Berber music will carry you off into the night. Sleep in a tent or under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Tazzarine – Draa Valley – Zagora
Rise early for the sunrise and enjoy breakfast before we ride the camels back to the hotel. Here, after freshening up, we will leave for Rissani to explore the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif and its palm tree groves. After a lunch break in Tazzarine, we continue via the Draa Valley to Zagora, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night in hotel.
Day 4: Zagora – Agdz – Ouarzazate
After breakfast at the hotel, we leave for the Draa Valley and Agdz to discover the hidden treasures, traditions and customs of the Southern region. After lunch is served in the Kasbah of Tamnougalte, enjoy a visit to the groves before we continue return you to your Ouarzazate accommodations.
