Description
This two day trip from Quarzazate to M’Hamid is complete with kasbahs, palm groves, a camel ride and overnight at a desert camp. One the way back to Ouarzazate visit the Koranic Library and the manufacturing site of the local green pottery in Tamegroute.
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora – M’Hamid
Morning departure from your Ouarzazate accommodations by 4×4 with your personal driver and guide to begin our journey to M’Hamid. We will pass through the Valley of Drâa and its Thousand and One Kasbah. We will travel through the villages of Zagora and Agdz, as well as the palms of Ouled Brahim and Reg of Elfaija. Continuing on to M’hamid, passing the last palmeraie of Drâa, reaching the beginning of the desert. A camel ride will bring you to the desert camp where you will dine and enjoy music by the fire before sleeping in desert tents.
If a camel ride or sleeping in desert tents is not what you desire, please let us know. We can also drive you to the desert camp for dinner and merriment and then return you to M’Hamid for overnight in a beautiful hotel.
Day 2: M’hamid – Tamegroute – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, visit of the old Ksar M’Hamid, enjoy tea and breakfast before departing to Ouarzazate through the valley of Drâa. We will stop in Tamegroute to visit the Koranic Library and also learn about the manufacturing of the local green pottery. Our trip will conclude back at your accommodations in Ouarzazate.
