Description
This two day trip will start early, but by the end of the first day you will be gathered around the fire, listening to music from the desert, awaiting the beautiful sunrise over the dunes. Enjoy a camel ride through the desert before heading back to Marrakech.
Day 1: Marrakech – Tamdakhte – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora-M‘Hamid
We will pick you up from your Marrakech accommodations early to travel to M’Hamid and the desert bivouac for the night. We will travel over the Atlas Mountains through the pass of Tizi-N-Tichka. We stop to visit the Kasbah of Tamdakhte and Ait Ben Haddou in Ouarzazate. Afterwards we leave for Zagora, stopping in Agdz. Taking in the panoramic view over the valley of the Draa on the way. In Tamgroute, we will stop for a tour of the Koranic library and also learn about the famous Moroccan green pottery manufactured here. In the evening we will arrive at the desert bivouac in M’hamid. Enjoy dinner and a night around the fire with music and folklore. Spend your night in a nomadic tent or under the stars.
Day 2: Mhamid- Kasbah Tamnougalt-Marrakech
Enjoy the sunrise and after breakfast, ride camel for an hour into the dunes. Have a bit of tea with a nomad in the desert. Then depart to Marrakech via the Drâa, a quick stop in Agdez and a visit to the Kasbah Tamnougalt. Wil will continue on to Ouarzazate via Tizi N’Tinffift. Then departure to Marrakech via Tizi N’Tichka.
