Day 1: Marrakech to Ouarzazate via Ait Ben Haddou
Depart from your Marrakech accommodations after breakfast in your private 4×4 with personal guide to Ouarzazate via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Take in the dramatic changing landscape and scenery as you pass over the Atlas Mountains. Arriving in Ouarzazate we will proceed to the Kasbah Telouet, ancestral home of Pacha Glaoui. After lunch we continue our journey passing by and Ksours Kasbah to reach the Valley Ounila and then on to Kasbah Tamdakhte, as well as that of Ait Ben Haddou. We will arrive at the Riad in Ouarzazate, enjoying traditional Moroccon food for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Tinghir
After breakfast, we depart to the Dades Gorge via the lake, the park and the Kasbah of Ouarzazate, then continue on the route westward to reach the village of Bou-Thahrar, stopping at the Kasbah of Ait-Glaoui Youl. We continuing on to the Dades Valley and after lunch we will journey on the road that winds around the hills of the High Atlas to the Todra Gorges. Upon arrival at the hotel we will dine and overnight.
Day 3: Tinghir – Tazarine – N’Kob – Zagora – M’hamid
An early start is desirable for us to follow the longest stretch of our journey through Tazarine then N’Kob, a small Berber village. Lunch in Zagora and then resuming our route stopping at Tamgroute to visit the Koranic library and to observe the manufacturing of the local green pottery and the fascinating underground streets. We continue on the trail through the grove of Ouled Brahim and Reg Elfaija, arriving in M’Hamid, spending the evening dining, with a campfire and sleeping in tents or under the stars.
Day 4: M’hamid-Chegaga
After breakfast, we will spend time riding camels and then head to the big sandy dunes Chegaga on an off road path. Enjoy lunch in the shade of palm trees and tamarisk before we resume the trail to Chegaga. At the desert bivouac we will watch the spectacular sunset, enjoy dinner and a campfire and overnight in tents or under the stars.
Day 5: Chegaga – Marrakech
Breakfast at the camp before leaving in a 4×4 through the off road tracks, back to M’hamid, on way to Marrakech via Ouarzazate, stopping along the way for lunch and refreshments.
