    Description

This five day private tour is a great way to see southern Morocco, including the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert.  Along the route you will meet local Berbers and learn about their way of life and customs, including sharing a glass of mint tea.  Visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage and the backdrop for many Hollywood films.  Spend the night at a desert camp, complete with camel trek and the unforgettable experiences of sunset and sunrise over the dunes.

Accommodations for tours that include time in the desert can be customized to fill your needs.  Upgrades can include a private ensuite bathroom, additional amenities including alcoholic beverages, and more luxurious appointments.  Private camps for your group only can also be arranged.  Please let us know what comforts you desire and we will chose the best desert accommodations to meet those needs.

    Day 1: Fez – Erfoud
You will meet your guide early to begin your travel through Azrou, where you will see the Barbary Apes in the woods of the Middle Atlas Mountains.  Then on to Middelt, famous for its apples, where we will have lunch. Afterwards, travel on the pass of Tizi-n-Talremt through the Ziz Valley. The valley is known for its length of the oasis of Palm. All along the way there are many palaces, as well as small villages.  After the long route along the palm oasis we will arrive in Er Rachidia.  From there we drive to Erfoud, famous for its festival of Dates and many marble fossils. We have dinner and spend the night in a traditional hotel.

    Day 2: Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast we travel to visit the souks of Rissani, after which we continue our journey towards Merzouga, where we are welcomed with a glass of mint tea. Here we enjoy lunch and as well as a dip in the pool before we ride camels towards the nomad camp.  At the desert camp we will watch the splendor of the sunset, have a delicious dinner and listen to folk music around the campfire. We invite you to spend the night under the stars.

    Day 3: Merzouga – Dades
In the early morning you can enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast we set off towards the gorge of Toudga. The road passes through several Berber villages, including Tinjdad and Toudga Valley. We have lunch at the gorge Toudga.  After lunch, take a walk through the gorge, taking in the gardens along the river. After the walk we continue our trip to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorge. Here we dine and spend the night.

    Day 4: Dades – Ouarzazate
After breakfast we will walk through Dades Gorges, and then continue our journey by SUV to Ouarzazate. We take an off road path by Boutghrar, in order to meet the Berber nomads and enjoy a a glass of tea with them. After tea we drive along the Rose Valley to the village of El Kelaa M, where every year a Rose festival is held in May.  Here you can visit stalls with products made from roses. We continue our journey along the kasbah of Skoura to the town of Ouarzazate where we will have dinner and overnight in a Riad.

    Day 5: Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, the route will lead us to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage and the backdrop for many Hollywood films. It is the most famous and oldest Kasbah in Morocco.
