Description
Day 1: Marrakech – Zagora – M’Hamid
Morning departure in 4 × 4 through the High Atlas and over the pass at Tichka (2260 m), then on through Ouarzazate and Agdez, enjoying lunch along the way. Continuing on to Zagora via the Draa valley of many Kasbahs. In the late afternoon, arrive in the desert village of M’Hamid and the desert bivouac just beyond in the dunes. Take a walking tour to enjoy the sunset. Afterwards dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 2: M’hamid to Erg Chegaga
Breakfast, then return to M’hamid for a two hour camel ride. Enjoy lunch amidst the palms. In the afternoon, departure to the majestic dunes of Chegaga across 60 km of off road desert landscape. Climb the dunes for a breathtaking sunset, followed by dinner and overnight in the bivouac.
Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Tazenakhte – Marrakech
After the desert breakfast, departure in 4 × 4 to cross 90 km more in the desert off road through LakeIriqui. Stop for lunch after the desert in the first village of Foum Zguid. In the afternoon, continuation on to Marrakech. Arrive late afternoon.
